The Princess and the Frogs

Yesterday was the 3rd birthday of my first born baby girl Fifi. I can't believe that she's 3 already. I always think about her birth and my pregnancy when I go to bed at night. It's not something that I ever want to forget. Those first kicks (probably gas), the real first kicks, the contractions and sleepless nights. I was so scared when I brought her home. Even though I had read every book and signed up on every pregnancy website, I was still clueless. I had no idea that this little person would really take over my life. That's what everyone says, but you really have no idea until it happens. I wanted to be the perfect natural, eco Momma. Midwife, no meds, prenatal yoga...I ended up with an epidural that I cherish to this day. We still do yoga together though. Sometimes I look at her and can't believe that I made her, that we made her.

She is truly a Daddy's girl and loves all things with wheels like he does. She is the bug whisperer and has lady bug friends that climb on her arms each and every day. On our daily walks, she tells the centipedes on the road "Go this way" and she had the absolute wonderful end to a wonderful birthday. After a day of cake and candy and friends and sidewalk chalk; in the evening in front of the house under the streetlights, tons of froggies hopped and ribbitted their way from one end of the street to the other. And we got to hold some and follow others. This was the absolute highlight of her day. You see, her most beloved stuffed friend (second to Conejo, of course) is Froggie (pronouced Fioggy). She knew that this was her day and that the froggies came out just to greet her to say "Feliz Cumpleanos", "Parabens" and "Happy Birthday"!

Until next time,

Tchau, Tchau
