In August, I was so happy to have reached my pre-pregnancy weight and I wasn't really trying. While I was in the mountains with the kids, we would take a refreshing walk each morning with the dogs and see horses, cows and chickens. I also stopped breastfeeding toots so I anticipated putting on a pound or two. Fast-forward 5 months and imagine my surprise when I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and looked. Really looked and realized that I looked old and frumpy and chunky. To confirm, I stepped on the scale and to my dismay I had put on about 15 pounds. And I could feel it, I felt tired and sluggish. We were home from the mountains and I was driving everywhere and I would have one too many medialunas in the morning.
So I've decided to get back and track and really work for it. I realize that I am no longer that young twenty-something or even the early thirty-something that can eat what she wants and stay relatively fit. It's been unbelievably hot here so I figure, this is the best time to drink lots and lots of water. I found this great idea for a detox water at Fitsugar and I am happy to say that although this picture is from their site, my creation looks almost exactly the same right down to the Ikea glass!!
From now on, I'll be sharing little tips and tricks that I pick up regarding healthy eating and exercise. How do you stay healthy?
